| Currently there are 2 good methods to make this old DOS video game run again, this time on new machines. Forget about DOS Box and other similar video game emulators. Those won´t work. To run ©Gambys on your modern computer, download it here , burn a CD and then you have to follow one of these options. |

| PART ONE - Creating a virtual machine in your computer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - FIRST Download this file. (right click + save as) - Create a new directory and unzip the file content into it (ex: C:\Gambys) - Download Virtual PC 2007at this link: http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/5/6/856bfc39-fa48-4315-a2b3-e6697a54ca88/32%20BIT/setup.exe - Install Virtal PC 2007 - Run Virtual PC 2007. A "wizard" to create a virtual machine will be displayed on screen. - Next - Next - Name the virtual machinhe (ex: MS DOS) - Next - Choose the operating system (nevermind the "Other") - Next "Using the recommended RAM" - Next "An existing virtual hard disk" - Next - Browse your computer and Choose the file you unzipped in the begining (ex: c:\Gambys\GAMBYS_C.vhd) - Next - Finish Congratulations, You now have your virtual machine set up. YOU´RE ALMOST THERE. |

| PART TWO - PLAY your GAMBYS CD or ISO image. - Run your virtual machine (double click or locate it in your start button menu.) When in DOS...At the CD menu option in Virtual PC: - Use Physical E: (or any other drive letter where you inserted your new Gambys CD) (or...if you have a CD image in ISO, choose option "Capture ISOImage") When in DOS mode inside your virtual machine Dos window: - Type: cd gambys - Type: gamby And that´s it, your computer will start running Gambys. SPECIAL KEYS - Alternate between window mode or fullscreen: ALT on the right + ENTER - Reset: ALT on the right + DEL - To get your mouse pointer back when inside a window: ALT on the right |

| What can you expect from this Dos game ©GAMBYS emulation. the emulation is not perfect, but it´s perfect enough for us to play all the 100 levels right up to the final 3D animation without any major glitches. Unfortunely, at least up until the moment i´m writing this, the music of the game does not play well at all yet. It gets distorted and the cute cartoon tunes sound more like dull distorted annoying midi soundtracks, altough it´s not problematic and it won´t affect the gameplay or the enjoyment of playing the game. Just tone down the music level a bit and enjoy the other cartoon in-game sound effects wich run perfectly. Also at the moment, you´ll only be able to play the game in low resolution (256 colors), and not in the 65.000 color mode, wich is unfortunely but this does not detract from the gameplay fun and fury in any way whatsoever. So I hope, you´ll enjoy this old Dos game, and if you do like the game, don´t forget to donate. |
