1993-95 - PC Videogame GAMBYS - Concept illustrations, character designs, enviroment art, planning, 3d Studio animations, 2D in-game animations and all graphic work for the first Portuguese PC videogame, working for the Portidata company. Also created all the marketing images around the project. Posters, flyers, banners, etc. Videogame released for Portugal and Spain in late 1996 to excelent reviews in the Portuguese press.
Revelation Award on the International Loulé Comics Competition in the summer of 1993. First publication on the Bedelho comics portuguese magazine.
1995-1996 – Created all the graphic design for all the software of the portuguese software house PROFITUS - Software de Gestão. This included all the software design for those projects, with layouts, screen design, icons and publicity elements for applications like Restus, Promax, Protel, Proloja, Promoda and WinMax 2000 line of products.

1996-1998 -Graphic Design for more software applications of the same company wich later became known as EBASE Lda. 1999 - Graphic design and plenty of digital illustration, for the whole RESTUS 2000 - Touchscreen project, wich later won several Microsoft awards not only for best restaurant managment software but also the one with the best graphic look.
2000-2006 – Designed Ebase Lda website www.ebase.pt (ebase.com) and all graphic elements in it, from the smallest banner to the biggest image. This also included plenty of work in previous versions online during the 90´s.

All my work is done in watercolor, acrylics, color pencils and ink, except when requested to be art-finalized in computer graphics (Photoshop or Illustrator.) Altough i work plenty in Fantasy and Scifi themes, my style is good for cartoony like projects, greeting cards, coloring book, children book illustration and so on.
Below are some details on each one of the areas i work. The prices are there just as a generic information, representing the current rates for this type of work, as everything can be negociated and most of the time it all depends on plenty of variables upon what is required for each work.
For example, in the Illustration area, i give the generic price for each pic, but when a big work is commissioned , one that involves plenty of images like for example a children book that needs about 10 pics or more, the project is treated as a package of illustrations and of course the price is lower for each pic depending on the amount of detail requested. The same goes for most of the areas of my work.
I´m also available for exclusive and long term illustration commitments, depending on my work schedule. If you have a greeting card series, a book series wich will need plenty of illustrations that will give me plenty of things to draw for long periods of time, let me know and we can work something out. This goes for all areas of my work.

The prices indicated below are based on the amount of work for each pic + use and publication rights for the image originated from the commissioned art. If a client also wants to purchase the original drawing on paper besides the digital version, the cost of the commission will rise because i will also be selling one of my originals, wich is always sent through snail mail on the same day i deliver the digital version of the work via net.

Regular detailed illustration
Pics like this are the type of work i get most to do and one of my favorite things to work on. Mainly for magazine publication to illustrate short stories but i also create pics for book covers, school stationary covers, etc. It has a considerable amount of details in it, but it won´t go to extreme levels and an image like this can still be enlarge to make big and beautiful poster prints if needed.
A drawing like this can take between 4 to 16 hours to finish and when done as a single order illustration, the price ranges between $67 and $672 depending on the size of the picture, if it´s on color or b&w, the hours spent on it and on the amount of details required for each image.
Of course when done as part of big commission with several images, for a children book project for example, the whole commission price is to be discused with a client and each job is treated as a whole package, so i can´t post here a definitive price for this type of work.
Greeting card illustration
Altough most of my illustrations can be used in greeting cards, e-cards, valentine´s day cards, etc, i also do specific work oriented to those areas above.
So if you need a design for a series of cute cartoon style greeting cards let me know.
Due to the variable nature of this type of project , prices will be agreed upon the discussion on what the client wants to see graphicaly represented on paper, how many illustrations you need and on the time it takes for me to do it.

Clipart, “line art”
Usualy i get these requested mostly for web graphics or logo design but i do plenty of this for coloring books also. It´s up to you, i just draw them and have fun doing it upon your request. This type of work can take sometimes between 10 minutes to 10 hours and that depends on the amount of figures the client wants me to create and on the level of detail requested. The price for this starts at $20 a piece (depending on the detail) and can go up to $250+ if it´s done for a logo. Thiis can also depend on the amount of figures you want me to create, or coloring-book pages you need me to illustrate with this style for your project.
Character Design and/or T-Shirt Design
I do these ones mainly for fun logos, website graphics, banners and T-shirts. If you want a fluffy cute style cartoon character or pic , i can draw it for you. Have an idea for something ? Let me try and see what i can do. This type of work can take between 5 and 8 hours to finish depending on the choosen graphic style, details and on the time it takes to color the whole thing and the price ranges between $25 for one detailed color drawing and can go up to $400+ depending on the number of drawings a client needs.
Mapas
Want one of those atmospheric maps for your company flyers ? Want to show where your Hotel or Company is located ? I can do a traditional illustration map for you in color or B&W. Comics & Storyboards
If you need sequencial art, have a story to tell in images and need someone to do it , let me know what you have in mind and lets see if my cartoon style fits your project. I don´t do realistic human type characters or super-hero american comics work. Just cartoon style stuff, based on characters and detailed scenery, altough i can draw humans in more realistic way when needed and if requested for a project. If you have an imaginary world you want to depict while telling a story, wrote a great description in a novel and want to see how it would translate into a storyboard, a sequencial art piece or into comics let´s see what i can do with it. Having worked in software design for the last 14 years, i´m also available for projects related to this area.
